fascinated by "a deliberately over-engineered machine that performs a very simple task in a very complex fashion"

Music video by OK Go for the song This Too Shall Pass has been named by UK Music Video Awards the best music video of 2010. And it really is something to be admired. It features a giant Rube Goldberg machines built in a two-story warehouse from over 700 household objects. Video was shot in one single shot sequence and the song is completely synchronized with actions of the machine. The general idea for this video came from the band itself as they were enchanted by the concept of Rube Goldberg machines ( ain't we all?) and they hired professionals to plan and construct the machine. The total time to create the video was about six months, with two months of planning and four months for design and filming.
